Mrs. Gabriel, a retired sales clerk for Turner's Store, was a Lincoln County native, daughter of the late Giles and Addie Goodson. She was a charter member of Boger City United Methodist Church. She was a past worthy matron of Eastern Star OES 114.
Survivors are her sons, Paul Gabriel of Cary, retired Gen. Charles Gabriel of McLean, Va., Steve Gabriel of Boone, S.G. Gabriel of Rutherfordton; daughter, Mrs. Betty Ross; brother, W.B. Goodson; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
