Agnes M. Stump, 82 of Monroe, died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday at Mercy Memorial Hospital's Emergency Room. She had been in poor health for 10 years.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and 1-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe. She will lie in state at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, Monroe where services will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.
Born March 20, 1926 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Keith and Anna (Burt) Hayter. She married James V. Stump March 27, 1943 in Monroe.
A homemaker, she had been an avid bowler and enjoyed ceramics.
Agnes was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Monroe and had attended Monroe Public Schools.
Surviving are her husband, James V. Stump of Monroe; a son, James K. (Sue) Stump, Sr. of Monroe; a daughter Violet J. (Harley) Ellison of Monroe; three brothers, John (Mary Lou) Hayter of Monroe, David (Mary) Hayter of Monroe and Eugene Hayter of Erie; two sisters, Joann (Clayton) Bailey of Monroe and Beverly (Roland) Laura of Flat Rock; ten grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Buddy, Robert, Richard and William Hayter; two sisters, Dora Green and Mary Ann Hayter; a son, Roy Stump, Sr. and a great granddaughter, Amanda Brown.
