REV. WILLARD A. TUCKER

Rev. Willard A. Tucker Angelo Pastor Dies


The Rev. Willard A. Tucker, 28, pastor of the Foursquare Gospel Church here, died in a local hospital Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Death was attributed to pneumonia.


The Rev. Mr. Tucker had been here 18 months coming to San Angelo from Corpus Christi. He resided at 26 East 14th St.


Survivors include the widow; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Tucker, Birmingham, la., a sister, Mrs. Pearl Pederson, Batavia, Ia., and a brother, George, Chicago.


Funeral services are pending arrival of the parents who are expected today. After the service here the body will be shipped to Birmingham, la., for burial. Johnson's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements here.


The Rev. Mr. Tucker, a graduate of the L. I. F. E. Bible College, Los Angeles, had engaged in evangelistic work before accepting a call to a pastorate. He had been in the ministry seven years and at one time held the pastorate at Benton, la.


He had conducted a very successful church program over radio station KGKL and in addition to his duties as pastor at the local Foursquare Gospel Church had served as district superintendent of the San Angelo district.
