Son of John Trexler and Maria Geist. Husband of Catherine "Kitty" Amanda Fenstermacher. Civil War Marker.

Jonas Trexler enlisted as a Private in Company K, 151st Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania. He fought in the Battle of Gettysburg.

Jonas Trexler died Thursday at 5 p.m. at his home on Spruce Street, Topton, of apoplexy, age 71 years, 2 months and 18 days. Deceased was a verteran of the Civil War and had been in ill health for 3 years and 10 months. These brothers and sisters survive: John of Topton; Alvin and Henry of Hancock; Mrs. Quinton Heffner and Mrs. George Wetzell of Macurgie; and Mrs. Carolina Miller of Barto. Deceased leaves his widow, Amanda, nee Fenstermacher, Trexler, and these children, Henry of Trexlertown, Edwin and Fred of Topton, Mrs. Reuben Fretz of Mertztown, and Mrs. Victor Wenner of this city.

Two children preceeded the father in death. The funeral will be held from his late residence on Wednesday, December 14 at 9:30 a.m. Services and internment at Longswamp Church. Revs. W.S. Bond and W.H. Kline will officiate. Funeral Director Irwin D. Long of Alburtis, has charge.
