Patience Bland Smith Gurley, 1797-1885. A native of South Carolina. Daughter of Joshua and Mary Anderson Smith. Wife of Davis Gurley and a pioneer of Waco. She died at Liberty Hall, the Gurley plantation.

Wed., July 1: Mrs. P. B. Gurley died June 30 at the residence of her son, Davis R. Gurley, aged 88 years. Resided Texas since 1853, mostly in Waco.
Funeral from the residence of Col. D. R. Gurley, with Rev. Horace Bishop officiating.
