Bayard- Henry Batt, 91, of Bayard, died Tuesday morning in an Alliance [NE] hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1879 at Dittle [Dietel], Russia, and he came to the United States in 1899 to Lincoln. There, he married Mary Popp, who survives. They moved to Bayard, [NE] in 1921, and then to McGrew, [NE] in the same year where they lived for four years, before moving to a farm three miles east, and a half-mile north of Bayard in 1925. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Randall of Billings, Mont.; Marie Stewart; Lydia Kraus; and Olla Bowers of Bayard; four sons, Jake; Alex; and John of Bayard; and George of Scottsbluff; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Three sons; two brothers; and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services are pending at the Plummer Funeral Home of Bayard, NE.
