Industry, IL - Emil Anton Hynek, 84, of Rushville, formerly of Industry, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy.
Emil was born March 26, 1927 in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, the son of the late Joseph & Dora Kalina Hynek. He married Mary Stevens on December 7, 1953 at the Presbyterian Church in Monmouth, IL. She preceded him in death on September 20, 1986. He later married Julia Young Gunther on August 18, 1990 in West Prairie Presbyterian Church near Adair, IL.
She survives along with two sons, David Hynek and Terry Hynek and wife, Becky; one daughter, Cynthia Bushmire and husband, John; one stepson, Frederick Gunther and wife, Lynne; one stepdaughter, Katrina Brown and husband, Jerry; nine grandchildren, Rebecca Weiss, Jared Parker, Jason Parker, Katie Parker, Mitchell Hynek, Michelle Bearce and husband Frank, Melissa Hynek, Jeremy Hynek and wife Brittnee and Jordan Hynek; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Victor, Raymond and Allen Hynek.
He was a life-long area farmer.
He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, serving in the 7th Cavalry, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of the McDonough American Legion Post #6, the Macomb V.F.W. Post # 1921, Korean War Veteran's 7th Cavalry Association & West Prairie Presbyterian Church. He attended the Rushville First United Methodist Church & served on the Chockley Cemetery board.
Interment will be in Chockley Cemetery near Industry with military honors.
