Silas D, son of Oliver Bishop, b Harrison Co, and Sarah Jane Courtwright, b Harrison Co, married Enarca Jane Long on Nov 22, 1887, Vinton County.
Silas, a farmer, and Enarca were the parents of 4 children, but only one survived infancy. They lost infant sons in 1896 and 1891, and daughter, Estella E, on Jan 6, 1892, 2Y 5M 17D. Their surviving child was John Wesley Bishop, b Jan 3, 1893.
Silas and Enarca lived in Wilkesville until their deaths.
Cause of death for Silas was the result of severe bee stings, resulting in thrombosis of veins in right arm, 79Y 3M 11D.
