STINSON CREEK - Sherman Bragg, 86, of Stinson Creek died Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at home following a long illness. He was a member of Palermo Methodist Church and was retired from Metro Equipment of Brunswick, Ohio. He was born September 3, 1913 at Palermo, a son of the late Golza and Vernie Bragg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Hansford Bragg, James Calloway Bragg and Elliot Bragg; three sisters, Edith Clay, Ada Linville and Maggie Bragg; two grandsons, Michael Coleman and Jerald Delno Bragg, Jr.; and one great grandson Tom Michael Thomas, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Bethel Eunice (Linville) Bragg; special sister-in-law Ethel Peachie (Linville) Bias; two sons an daughters in law, the Rev. Jerald Delno and Edna Bragg of Strongsville, Ohio and the Rev. Kessler Deward "K. D." and Rose Bragg of Sias; two daughters and sons in law, Phyllis Gail (Bragg) and Gerald Pinson of Barboursville and Navetta Sue (Bragg) and Jim Humphreys of South Charleston; and one sister, Ida Lovejoy of Sias. He had 16 grandchildren, Richard Bragg, Golza Frank Bragg, Helena (Bragg) Markovich and Millie (Bragg) Reinke, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Brain Bragg of Sias, Kim (Bragg) Dobbs of Florida, Derrick Bragg of Stinson Creek, Jerry Lee Pinson of Huntington, Tom Pinson of Yawkey, Kendal (Pinson) Glenn of Florida, Melissa (Pinson) Mount of Milton, Fred Pace of Hamlin, Lisa (Pace) Lane of Hurricane, Ramona (Weekley) Smith of South Charleston, Carla (Weekley) Thomas of Georgia, and Tommy Weekley of Florida. He had 23 great grandchildren, LeAnn Bragg, Kellie Dickerson, Jessica Coleman, Joshua Pinson, Sylvia Pinson, Sara Beth Pinson, Samantha Glenn, Zachary Simms, Heidi Sims, Morgan Lovejoy, Navetta Pace, Donnie Pace, Branden Wheeler, Jordan Lane, Kayla Weekley Kirby, Tyler Thomas, Carrigan Thomas, Tiffany Ursum, Angela Ursum, Brandon Reinke, Rosie Nettgin, Kirk Douglas Reinke and Jesse Weekley. Visitation services were held on Thursday, May 4 at Handley Funeral Home in Hamlin. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 5 at Palermo Methodist Church at Palermo with the Rev. Tom Cooper and the Rev. Rexal Cooper officiating. Burial followed at Lovejoy Cemetery are Palermo. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Hanley Funeral Home at Hamlin was in charge of all the arrangements.
