Sarah was the daughter of William and Winnifred (Neal) Rose.
She was married to William Eakins on Aug. 23, 1868 in Gallia County, Ohio by Andrew Bostic.
Her obituary states:
" Sarah Rose, wife of William Eakins, was born April 21, 1849 in Lawrence County, Ohio and died at the family residence, 509 Clinton Avenue, Ottumwa, Iowa, March 1, 1908. She was married to William Eakins, Aug. 23, 1868 in Gallia County, Ohio, the same year they moved to Davis Co., Iowa. They had ten children, of these one died in infancy, baby Charles. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Ormanville".

According to family records by William Edward Rose, Sarah came home in the fall of 1903 and stayed for over a month, then returned to Iowa. It was her last trip home to Ohio before she died.
William and Sarah had eleven children: Ida Mary, Charles E., Nancy Etta, Elizabeth Ann, William Thomas, Luella Mae, Bertha Olive, Walter John, Cora Myrtle, Roy and Grover R.
