COMMERCE - Thomas S. Bridges, 76, a resident of Cumby for 39 years, was found dead at his home Sunday morning about 10:30. Justice of the Peace, V.C. Bird returned a verdict of death from natural causes.

Mr. Bridges was born in Kentucky April 20, 1881 and had lived in Greenville prior to moving to Cumby.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. J.C. King, Dallas, Mrs. C.H. Haley, Arlington, Mrs. Joe Watson, Irving, and Mrs. Thomas R. Hill, Mesquite; two sons, Hershel Bridges, Peniel and Albert Bridges, Flagler, Colo.; nine grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mollie Rice, Greenville.

Mr. Bridges was a member of the First Baptist Church at Tidwell.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cumby Baptist Church with the Rev. P.G. Hightower and the Rev. J.A. Warnken officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Jacobia under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in Commerce where the body will rest until the hour for the services. Pallbearers will be W.J. Record, Harbart Tarrant, Boy Follis, D.R. Coepland, Lee Beesley and Jack Calan.
