Rites are Held For Mrs. Carter

Final rites were observed at 3:30 p.m. Monday from the Salem-Kinser Methodist Church for Mrs. Annie Myrtle Carter, 79, who died at the family home on Route 2, Greenville, at 11:45 o'clock Sunday morning.

Rites were conducted by the Rev. Gene Tromble, pastor, and burial was in Tidwell cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons, including Doyle Sprinkle, Joe Ray Carter, Dalton Carter, Wayne Frazier, Bobby Frazier and Benton R. Ross.

James-Coker-Peters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A native of Kentucky, Mrs. Carter was born on November 25, 1872, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bridges. She received her education in rural schools of the county and was a charter member of the Salem-Kinser church.

Her husband, Joseph Carter, died in 1945.

Mrs. Carter had resided on Route 2, Greenville, for the past seven years.

She is survived by four sons, W. L. Carter of McKinney, W. E. Carter of Greenville, E. R. Carter of Dallas, and M. T. Carter of Cleburne; three daughters, Mrs. C. C. Willis of Greenville, Mrs. Preston Frazier of Royse City and Mrs. Jesse Ross of Denion (sic); a brother, Tom Bridges of Cumby; two sisters, Mrs. John Pierce of Celeste and Mrs. Mollie Rice of Greenville; 40 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Three daughters preceded her in death.
