Early Life: Verna was born November 27, 1922, in Wyoming, the seventh of nine children to Franklin Jamison and Susan Myrtle Carbine Graham. Verna was raised in Texas.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: Following World War II, she married Rulon A. Anderson in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Kansas where they raised their children: Donna (Bates), Elaine (Burton) and Glen. Rulon died in a vehicle accident in 1966 and Verna returned to Utah to graduate from Utah State University with a degree in Spanish. In 1970, she married Glen Kennington and moved to Afton, Wyoming, where she became the stepmother to three more sons and four more daughters: ValDee, George, Brad, Jean (Hoopes), Lavon (Davis), Cathy (Korell) and Annie (Erickson). As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Verna belonged to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was an excellent teacher. She loved to quilt and won many prizes for her work. She was a master gardener and had a passion for football. She loved people and kept busy serving others. Verna Graham Anderson Kennington died at her home on June 29, 2012. She was 89.
Survived By: Ten children, 38 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren and 23 great -reat-grandchildren. She loved them all and will be sorely missed.
