Jean is survived by sons, Dale Melton and his wife Carleen of Albuquerque, NM and Dr. Richard Melton and his wife Frances of Salt Lake City, Utah. One daughter, Doris Melton Franzoy and her husband Frank Franzoy Jr. of Hatch, NM. One foster daughter Diana Elliot and her husband Ray Elliot of Clovis, NM. Also surviving Jean is one sister, Verna Kennington of Nampa, Idaho, 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis C. Melton.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, February 9, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hatch, NM, with Ken Thurston presiding. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, NM.
