ALLABEN—Dr. Charles M. Allaben, 77, 114 Murray St died Friday afternoon at Binghamton General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary K. Allaben, Binghamton; a son, Charles M. Allaben. Jr. Ithaca; three daughters, Mrs. Darwin R. (Alice) Wales, Binghamton, Mrs. James K. (Anne) Farrell, Wilmington, Del. and Mrs. David G. (Betty) Buttick, Pittsburgh, Pa.; two stepsons, Emerson W. Stevens, Buffalo and Dr. Richard C. Stevens, Binghamton; 27 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Dr. Allaben was the first orthopedic surgeon to practice in Broome County. He was a member of the Tabernacle Methodist Church of Binghamton, past president and life member of the Binghamton Rotary Club. He was a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Allaben was a member of the World Medical Association and became a life member of the New York State Medical Society in 1961. He was also a member of the Livingston Manor Lodge 791, F&AM of Roscoe. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Tabernacle Methodist Church. The Rev. George Y. Flint,
D. D., pastor, assisted by the Rev. George H. Phillips, D. D„ will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Prentice Funeral Home, Inc 53 Main St Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m.
