Alma I. Vander Broek, 58, died Thursday, Sept. 27, in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 1 in the First Reformed Church of Maurice. The Rev. Robert Schwander officiated. Burial was in Sherman Township.
Family visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 30 at the Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.
Mrs. Vander Broek, the former Alma Popma, was born April 10, 1926, in Ireton.
She married Robert Vander Broek April 26, 1946, in Maurice. Most of her life was spent in Sioux County where the couple farmed.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Maurice where she was active in many functions fo the church.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Earla) Bracken of San Jose, Calif.; two sons, Dr. Lyle of Dubuque and Leo of Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Viola) Koopmans of Sioux Center, Mrs. Bud (Edna) Cooper of Bend, Ore., and Mrs. Ray (Elsie) De Jager of Maurice; and one brother, Russell of Lake Benton, Minn.
