OYSTERVILLE, Jan 14. Mr. Robert CARRUTHERS of Astoria, is the guest of his brother Al CARRUTHERS this week. He has recently returned from an extended trip in the East and South, visiting Tampa, Florida and other southern points. On his return he brought with him from the home of his boyhood the remains of his brother who died in 1851 at the age of twelve years. The remains being carefully exhumed were found to be in much better condition than might at first be supposed. The skull and bones of the head were intact when first seen but came apart on being moved. The teeth, twenty two of which were found in good condition and the bones of the limbs were also reasonably sound.
After being entombed for half a century the little body was still accompained by his small toy gun and pocket knife, which had been placed in the coffin by the loving hand of his mother.
The remains were buried by his brother in the Oysterville cemetery last Thursday by the side of his father and mother.
