Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Margaret Ethel Pearl Shorts Ostberg, age 84, passed away Sept. 14, 1992 in her sleep after a lingering illness.

She was born January 26, 1908 in Elwood City, Pa., to Walter F. and Amanda Daisy Mae Criclow Shorts. She married Merlin J. Ostberg, Jan. 6, 1926 in Pocatello, Idaho. Ethel was raised in Wellington, Utah, after her marriage, she lived in Idaho and later moved to Salt Lake City where she resided until the time of her death. Ethel raised a large family, 11 daughters and four sons, and was very proud of them and their achievements. She loved singing, dancing, sewing and enjoyed crocheting and made many things for her family and friends. She had a talent for poetry and wrote many poems during her stay here on earth.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Michell, Idaho; Jimmie Ostberg, Oregon; Betty Perry, California; Linda Howes, Kansas City, Missouri; Maureen Murray, Barbara Williams, Kennie, Dennis, and Larry Ostberg, Colleen Nielson, Bonnie De Friez, Arta Mae Milligan, Judy Lynn Urias; sister, Roslie Hansen; brothers, Mark, Murray, and Kenneth Shorts, 54 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 9, 1983; daughters, LaVella Eaton and Margie Sheldon, brother Floyd F. Shorts.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 18, 1992, 2 p.m. at the Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Rd., where viewing will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery.
