James A. Starkey, 88, 47 North Jefferson Ave., died Wednesday, March 4, at 11:20 p.m.. following an illness of 16 months.
Mr. Starkey was born Aug. 6, 1875 at Irondale, Ohio, a son of the late John and Sarah Ewing Starkey. He had been a resident of Canonsburg since 1936, and was a retired employee of the Standard Tin Plate.
Mr. Starkey was a member of First Christian Church.
On Dec. 23, 1897, he was united in marriage to Annie Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving are: one son, Harold, Canonsburg: two daughters. Mrs. Helen Digler, Canonsburg and Mrs. Eva Wolfe, Houston: six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
