She was born July 4, 1880, in Salinesville, Ohio, a daughter of John J. and Mary C. Ball Johnson. Her husband, James A. Starkey died in 1964.
Mrs. Starkey was formerly a resident of Canonsburg, where she lived for 55 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Canonsburg.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eva Wolfe of Houston and Mrs. Helen Bigler of Washington; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Newton of Sebring, Ohio; five grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
One son Harold, five sisters, one brother, and one grandson are deceased.
