Dad was born July 5, 1918 to Carl and Anna Maria Wichmann Bohn in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was one of 14 brothers and sisters.
Dad was sealed to his wife, Dorothy D. Knecht on June 10, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. They had four children, Carl, Carolynn, Craig and Colleen.
He served his country during World War II in the Philippines and had an honorable discharge.
Dad was a friend to everyone and taught his family service and love by example.
After the war, he was a Fireman for the Salt Lake City Fire Department for 26 years. He retired and went to work at United Airlines. After retiring for a second time, he served faithfully as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple.
Dad is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his daughter Carolynn Howes and two granddaughters Meghan and Kelcie Bodell. Also, preceding him in death is his parents and 11 siblings.
Dad is survived by his children Carl (Pam) Bohn, Craig (Christie) Bohn, Colleen Bohn Bodell, and Ralph (Edy) Howes. He has 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, which have been a joy to him. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Cameron and Darlene (Merrill) Cantonwine.
Dad, you fought a good fight and endured to the end, we love you.
As a family we would like to thank all those who cared for and loved dad at the Inn on Barton Creek and North Canyon Care Center in Bountiful. Also thanks to Julie, Deven, Amanda and all those who worked with him in Physical Therapy.
Thanks to Hospice, who made him comfortable and gave support to our family. A special thanks to Dr. Michael Adjei-Poku who took a special interest in dad and his care.
