Susie Tschetter, 86, of 1818 Arizona SW and formally of Iroquois, died Wednesday December 20, 1989, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. The funeral will be 11 am Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr Richard Ward and Rev. Laurie Morrison-Sloat officiating Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Garden.
Susie S Tschetter was born March 28, 1903 to Jacob and Rachel (Hofer) Hofer, near Bridgewater. In 1908 she moved with her parents to Spink County on a farm. She was baptized in the Hutterthal Mennonite Church near Carpenter in 1921. She was a member of that church until 1957 when she transferred to Iroquois Trinity United Methodist Church. She married Andrew P Tschetter January 29, 1922 in the Hutterthal Mennonite Church. They lived in Huron and Iroquois areas where they owned and operated the Tschetter Texaco station and grocery store until they retired in 1963.
She was a member of the Iroquois and Huron Center Senior Citizens; Iroquois Trinity United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, American Legion Auxiliary, and Women's Relief Corps.
She is survived by four daughters Mrs. Elmer (Hazel) Gross of Huron, Mrs. Lee (Irene) Scott of Wessington Springs, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Culver of Huron, and Mrs. Owen (Jeanette) Johnson of Huron, 19 grand children, 28 great grandchildren, two brothers, Albert R Hofer of Huron and John J Hofer of Frankfort.
She was preceded in death by her husband August 28, 1982, one son Robert, her parents, two brothers Jake R Hofer and Dave S Hofer and one sister Mrs. Pete (Katie) Gross.
