Lewis Moler was born in Madison county, Indiana, November 1, 1836 and died at his home near Redding Friday evening, December 6, 1912, aged 76 years, 20 days. He was united in marriage with Miss Lucinda Hotchkiss in the year 1860.

To this union was born nine children - three boys, Edward, George and Selma, and six girls, Ida Harrington of Redding, Mrs. Carrie Miller of Redding, Clara Wells of Mount Ayr, Blanch Maudlin and Mrs. Lillie Hotchkiss.

He was of a quiet and reserved disposition, a kind and loving father and a devoted husband. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community.
