James Robinson died at his home in Ewen Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock after an illness of several weeks with appendicitis. About 4 hours previous to his death he underwent an operation from which he rallied and it was thought that his chances for recovery were favorable until a very short time before his death when his condition grew rapidly worse and he gradually passed into eternal sleep. The funeral was held from the house Wednesday and was attended by a large concourse of friends and neighbors.
Mr Robinson was about 40 years old and had been a resident of Ewen for quite a long time. He is survived by a wife and seven children, the oldest one about 13 years. Through hard work he had succeeded in clearing considerable land on his farm in the village limits. He was a member of the Superior Tent, K.O.T.M. of Marquette in which he carried a policy for $2,000.
(Knights of the Maccabees was a fraternal organization formed in 1878 in London, Ontario, Canada)
