Samuel Robinson is the 7th of 9 children born to Benjamin Robinson and Ann(a) Ball Robinson in Grey County, Ontario, Canada. After Samuel's mother Anna Ball died in 1864/1865, his father married 2nd to Agnes Ann Carleton, Banks on 20 Nov 1865. Shortly after their two young children died in late 1879, much of the remaining family apparently emigrated about 1880 to the United States.
On 04 Mar 1891, at the age of 28, Samuel married Adah L Quantz, in Detour, Chippewa, Michigan, USA, daughter of Phillip Quantz and Lucy May Otter. Together, Samuel and Adah had four children: Mabel May Robinson (b. 1894), Cora L Robinson, b. 1897; David B Robinson, b. 1898, and Samuel Ruben Robinson, b. 1899.
After Samuel's accidental death, Adah married 20 Nov 1901 to Edward B. Williams and together they had four children: Catherine "Millie" Williams (b. 1902); Charles E Williams (b. 1907); Elsie Williams (b. 1910); and Nellie Williams (b. 1915). It appears that Edward may have adopted David B. Robinson & Samuel Ruben Robinson, as they appear under the name Williams in the 1910 US Census.
