Henry Bothof was born to Peter and Mary DeBruin Bothof on October 28, 1889 at Dordrecht, the Netherlands.
He came to America in 1911. He was united in marriage to Margaret Murphy on February 4, 1913 at her parental farm home at Chandler, Minn. To this union 4 daughters were born. They were engaged in farming and spent their entire married life at the farm home south of Chandler.
He was a member of the Chandler Reformed Church.
He passed away at Sioux Falls, South Dakota on September 26, 1971 at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 29 days.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Mary (Mrs. Joe Van Ruler) Lake Wilson; Gertrude (Mrs. William Olivier), Chandler and Catherine (Mrs. Geurt Van Roekel) Chandler. One brother John of Chandler, 25 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, who passed away July 25, 1963, one daughter Henrietta, who died in infancy, his parents, his brothers: Dick, Peter, Lane and William, and his sisters, Elizabeth and Gertie.
He was long he remembered for the many flowers he grew and gave to add color and beauty to many church services and special occasions.
