Catherine Ellen Bothof Van Roekel was born October 26, 1917 on a farm 3 1/2 miles south of Chandler.
On February 17, 1937 she was married to Geurt Van Roekel. Following their marriage they lived east of Chandler for 4 years. From there they moved to Ruthann for 6 years, moving back to Chandler where they farmed for 39 years.
Catherine was a member of the Reformed Church of Chandler, Minnesota for 39 years.
She is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter, Jacob Van Roekel of Smithton, Ill.; Harvey at home and Gearold of Gillette, Wyo. and Mrs. Dorothy Klingenberg of Owatonna, Minn. She has 4 grandchildren: Kirsten; Eve; Luke and Seth. Also surviving are 2 sisters Mary Van Ruler and Gertrude Olivier.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister Henrietta.
