ACRM Johnny A. Renner, son of Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Renner, was born July 2, 1917 at Erick OK and graduated from Erick High School. He entered the service at Dallas TX on Feb. 12, 1937 and trained at San Diego CA. Renner served overseas in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of War stationed at Guadalcanal and participated in the battles of Pearl Harbor, Midway, New Georgia, Rendova and Vanguna. He was killed in action July 6, 1943 at Hare Island and was awarded the Purple Heart and Victory Medal.
