AMARILLO - Funeral services for Potter County Sheriff's Department Capt. Elmer Renner, 75, who was dead on arrival at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at Northwest Texas Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at the sheriff's office, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the San Jacinto Church of Christ.

Lemuel Phillips, minister, will officiate, assisted by Curtis Camp, minister of the Bell Avenue Church of Christ.

Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Capt. Renner joined the Potter County Sheriff's office in 1964, and was promoted to night captain in 1968. He was a retired railroad detective for the Santa Fe Railway and had worked in various capacities of law enforcement for 46 years.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Harold, of Amarillo; one daughter, Mrs. G.M. Davis, of Borger; two brothers, L.L. Renner, of Amarillo, and B.W. Renner, of Gruver; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
