Layfayette Fletcher died at the home of his son, Jerome Fletcher, at Whiting, Ind., last Wednesday afternoon, aged 79 years. The remains were brought to Hartford on Thursday and the funeral conducted on Friday. Mr. Fletcher was a pioneer of Hartford and was well known throughout this section. He leaves four children, two sons and two daughters.

OBITUARY

Lafayette Fletcher was born Sept. 30, 1824 at Tuscaroraville, N. Y. When he was ten years old the family moved to Leicester, Livingston County, and four years after to Genesio.

January 16, 1846, he was united in marriage to Miss Lucina Dunning and came to Michigan the same year. After a little time spent at Ceresco, Calhoun county, he came to Decatur and from there to Hartford.

His death, after a brief illness took place at Whiting, Ind., Sept. 20., Mrs. Fletcher died sometime before. He leaves two sons and three daughters. One of Mr. Fletcher's brothers survives him.
