Funeral services for T.H. (Harry) Garver were conducted from the Martin Chapel on Friday, July 12, 1974 at 2:30 p.m. with interment in the Reydon Cemetery.
Mr. Garver was born in San Saba County, Texas, on July 19, 1883, and passed away at his home at 620 W. 5th St. in Elk City on Juyly 10, 1974. He was 90 years of age. Mr. Garver had madde his home here the past 25 years.
He left San Saba County with his parents in 1896 and moved to Washita County near Foss in 1902. He was first married to Mattie Hanna at Sayre on December 18, 1904. She preceded him in death August 16, 1945.
In December, 1947, he was marriedto Maude E. Creswell at Wheeler, Texas. She passeds away on December 14, 1953. He then married Brooke Powell in 1955 in Elk City and she survives him. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Garver started farming in 1904 in Washita County where he made his home until 1908 then he began ranching and farming in Roger Mills County near Midway. In 1948 he mnoved to Elk City where he was a broker in oil royalties and lease and general real estate until ill health prevented his activities in business. He has been seriously ill since Decembner of last year. Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Woods his stepdaughter and her husband have moved to Elk City to care for Mr. and Mrs. Garver since his illness.
Mr. Garver received his 50 year masonic pin in March of 1970.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 children, Andrew Garver of Cheyenne, Mrs. Nora Bocox of Texico, New Mexico, and Mrs. Elma Spencer of Arnett; 3 step-daughters; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter.
