She was a native of Screven, but she lived most of her life in Waycross. She graduated from Nicholls High School and retired from King Edward Cigar Factory. Mrs. Minix was a member of Waycross Primitive Baptist Church.
She is the daughter of the late Robert L. McCall and Lilly Mae Thornton Thomas. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Jimmy Trenton Taylor and Eugene Minix; one son, Randy Taylor; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Taylor and Kenny Taylor (Donna) both of Waycross; two step-children, Wendell Minix (Cindy) and Stephen Minix both of Waycross; 13 grandchildren, Alesha Daniel (Zack), Jenny Taylor, James Taylor, Melissa Cox (Timmy), Joey Taylor (Rachael), Mat Taylor (Amanda), Greg Taylor, Jr. (Samantha), Josh Taylor, Wendell Minix, Jr. (Brittany), Lena Minix, Lindsey Rios (Devon), Stephen and Stephanie Minix, Jr.; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, June Carney of Green Cove Springs, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday (February 27, 2015) at Waycross Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 until 2 p.m. Friday at the church, and 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Alesha Daniel, 1603 Kecia Way, Waycross, GA 31503.
