According to the article, Elizabeth Easterly was born near Greenville, Green County, Tennessee on February 6, 1825. She married W. R. Reynolds on November 2, 1848, and the family lived in several Tennessee locations, leaving Knox County in 1853 for Jackson County, Illinois. The family left in 1867 for Newton County, Missouri, then moved again in 1874 to Atchison County, Missouri. They settled on a farm in the Maple Grove area of Johnson County, Nebraska, in 1880. The Reynolds moved to Tecumseh, Nebraska around 1892.

According to the obituary, Mrs. Reynolds had eight children - seven sons and one daughter. At the time the obituary was written, six of the children were living: Elbert M. Reynolds of Maple Grove, Mrs. D. F. Mitchell of Skidmore, Missouri, Phil. L. Reynolds of Maple Grove, John H. Reynolds of Dayton, Washington, William S. Reynolds of Seattle, Washington, and Franklin E. Reynolds of St. Joseph, Missouri.

Mrs. Reynolds died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. F. Mitchell, in Skidmore, Nodaway County, Missouri at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 4, 1904. Her remains were brought to Tecumseh, and Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Reynolds of St. Joseph and W. D. Martin of Skidmore, Missouri accompanied the body. The funeral was held at the Tecumseh Methodist Church on Monday, December 5. Rev. A. B. Whitmire of Clay Center, Kansas conducted the funeral.
