Kenneth served as a Gunnersmate in the US Navy (1940-1946) aboard the USS Craven (DD-382); he served in at least 20 different operations including the Battle at Midway.
On March 24, 1945, he married Vivian Berry in Washington, DC; he was age 21, she was 22. Born 1 December 1922 in Washington, DC; she was the youngest of four children born to E. Raymond & Elizabeth B. (Butler) Berry.
From his obituary in The Everett Daily Herald (27 September 2008): "Ken never had a harsh word for anyone and was always a flirt. Dad reinvented himself many times over the years; son, husband, father, Interior Decorator, Furniture Store Manager and lastly a Master Gardener for Dr. Sanford Wright. You definitely knew when to stop and smell the roses Dad, You will be missed."
