Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Vernon Chase of the Seventh Day Adventist church, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wray Christian church. Because of Monday's storm, interment was held Tuesday at Glendale Cemetery at Vernon.
Mr. Lorance lived in various parts of Nebraska during his boyhood and came to Wray shortly before World War I. He joined the Armed Forces and served in France. He was discharged and returned to Wray where he married Cressie Mae Carr on July 1, 1920. To them five children were born, four of whom survived their father. His only daughter died at birth.
The family lived for a time in Julesburg, Boulder and at West Plains, Mo. They returned to Wray a number of years ago and he operated a shoe shop here until shortly before his death.
Mr. Lorance was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist church in 1924 and remained faithful to this church until his death.
His parents, one brother, Glenn, and his daughter, Melda Opal, preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife, Cressie; his sons, Alfred of Norton, Kan., Lester of Wray, Marvin of Denver and Virgil of the home; six grandchildren; one brother, Bill, and four sisters, Grace Ellyson, Ruby Page, Hattie Chelewski and Lela Burke.
