Mrs. William D. Ellyson of Newcastle, died at her home on August 21, 1973.
The former Grace May Lorance was born July 22, 1903 at Imperial, Nebr. She married William Dexter Ellyson at Grand Island on July 22, 1921 . She and her husband farmed in the Newcastle area for 52 years before retiring. She was a member of the United Congregational Church of Christ in Newcastle, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Lawrence Lofgren Post No. 62.
Survivors include her husband, William D. Ellyson of Newcastle, three sons, Lawrence of Newcastle, John Ellyson of Federal Way, Wash., and Marvin Ellyson of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. H.A. (Jane) Cochran of Newcastle, Mrs. Gordon (Celia) Hansen of Dixon; a brother, Bill Lorance of Grand Island; a sister, Hattie Chelewski of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 24, at the United Congregational Church of Christ in Newcastle, with the Rev. J. B. Choate of Ponca officiating at 10:30 a.m.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca.
Burial will be at the Ionia Cemetery at Newcastle, under the direction of the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca.
