Martha Lucinda Tucker was born in Russell County, Alabama, daughter of Jane Cooksey and Joseph Tarpley Tucker, and twin sister of Nathan Tucker. Two more older brothers were also twins, W. A. L. and James Madison Hill Tucker, known as "Hill." Lucy or Lou married Lorenzo Lacey and moved to Jefferson County following son Joseph E. Lacey, who worked at Alice Furnaces about 1889. Her Lacey, Stark(s), and Carraway descendants helped develop Pratt City, Ensley, Birmingham, and surrounding areas.
