Schererville - Schererville– JoAnn H. Weist, 85, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at William Riley Residence Hospice in Munster.

She was born on February 10, 1926 in Princeton, the daughter of John and Sarah Hunt. Jo Ann retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson. She lived in Muncie most of her adult life where she raised her family. Jo Ann and her husband "Chalky" where active members of the Muncie Boat Club. After her retirement, she and her husband lived in Carrolton, Kentucky for twenty years and were members of the First Baptist Church of Milton, Kentucky. In 2006 they moved to Schererville to be close to their daughter where they joined and First Baptist Church of Hammond. JoAnn enjoyed visits from the church's shut in program and the help, love, and support they provided for her. Johnny Colston was her Sunday school teacher and he and his wife were her friends. Many thanks go to her friends and caregivers.

Surviving are her daughters, Susie Williamson (husband, John), and JoEllen Cook (husband, Sonny); her grandchildren, Michael Weist, Mindy Weist, Dean Cook, Dena Cook, Heather Williamson, and Angela Williamson

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Charles "Chalky" Weist; a son, Mickey E. Weist, her parents and many siblings.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
