Grace Katherine 'Ditty' HUNT Scanlon, 64, died Thursday in Veterans Administration Medical Center, New Orleans, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Scanlon was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Princeton, Ind., to John and Sarah (Elsfelder) Hunt.

A World War II Veteran, she joined the WACS in 1942.

Mrs. Scanlon resided in Muncie, Indiana from 1939 to 1942.

Survivors include a son, James Lucy Sterling serving with the Merchant Marines, of Metairie, La.; and five sisters, Hazel M. Shoop and Martha R.'Mart' Elliott; both of Princeton, Ind.; Joan Weist of Muncie, Ind; Bessie Elizabeth Winingear Boyle of Parker City, Ind.; and Paula L. 'Polly' Woods of Lamont, Ill.

Two husbands, James Sterling and Tom Scanlon; her parent; four brothers and four sisters preceeded her in death.

Mrs. Scanlon's body was donated to the Tulane Medical School.
