Constantine: Thomas A. SKELTON Sr. 69, of 265 E. Fifth St., Constantine, died April 1, 1998, at the Three Rivers Area Hospital.
He was born March 11, 1929, in Constantine, a son of Herman and Sadie (THORN) SKELTON.
On Oct. 24, 1948, he married Caralene G. PRESTON in Three Rivers.
He was employed at the Harvey House in Constantine, retiring in 1987. He previously worked for many years at Wheel Camper and Coachman Industries of Centreville.
An avid outdoors man, he especially enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his wife; tow sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas A. Jr. and Brenda SKELTON and Mikeal and Marcia SKELTON; three grandchildren, Malinda, Andrew and Patrick SKELTON, all of Constantine; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Frances and Charles HOOPINGARNER, Eleanor PASHBY, and Lillian and Oscar HOLDERMAN, all of Constantine, and Elizabeth and Ronald RENTFROW of White Pigeon; three brothers, William and Lola SKELTON, Robert SKELTON and Herman SKELTON, all of Constantine; a half brother, Joseph and Luella SKELTON of Centreville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two half brothers, Russell and Elwood SKELTON.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Eley Funeral Home of Constantine, where services are at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Richard Liggett will officiate. Burial will be in Constantine Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Constantine Ambulance Service. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
