Frances M. Hoopingarner, age 87, of Constantine, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers.

She was born April 19, 1924, in Constantine, a daughter of Herman and Sadie (Thorn) Skelton. Frances attended Constantine Schools.

On June 30, 1967, she married Austin Charles Hoopingarner in Constantine. He preceded her in death April 4, 2000.

Frances worked at Denton Mills Centreville for 41 years, retiring in 1986. Frances is a member of Constantine United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the St. Joseph Historical Society, and a member of the Gov. Barry Historical Society. Frances enjoyed crochet, needlework and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Lillian Holderman; a brother, Thomas Skelton; and three half-brothers, Russell, Elwood and Joseph Skelton.

Services are at 11 a.m. today, with the Rev. Marilyn Schlimgen officiating. Interment will follow at Constantine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Church or Gov. Barry Society.
