Services were Saturday at Our Lady of Help Catholic Church in Frankenstein for August P. Stiefermann, who died last Wednesday at St. Joseph's Home for the aged in Jefferson City, with burial in Gethsemane cemetery. Mr. Stiefermann was born Feb 11, 1897 in Frankenstein to Frank B. Steifermann and the former Elizabeth Backes. He was married Jun 24, 1930 at Frankenstein to the former Gertrude Johanna Koenigsfeld, who died Sept 22, 1989. A lifelong area resident, he attended school at Frankenstein and was a farmer.
Survivors include a son, Charles A. Stiefermann of Frankenstein; five daughters, Margaret E. Powers of Chicago, Kathleen L. David of Athens, GA, and Sister Barbaralie Stiefermann, Betty W. Posgay and Theresa H. Lisitano, all of St. Louis. Preceding him in death were another daughter, Rose Marie Stiefermann and two grandchildren.
