"Gertrude Haslag, 96, Jefferson City, died Tuesday, March 19, 1991 at Hillside Healthcare, Jefferson City.

"She was born June 17, 1894, in Frankenstein, a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Backes Stiefermann. She was married Nov. 4, 1913, in Frankenstein to August Haslag, who died Feb. 11, 1974.

"She was a lifelong resident of Osage County and resided in the Frankenstein community. She was a homemaker and a member of the Altar Society.

"Survivors include two sons, Sylvester Haslag, Bonnots Mill, Raphael Haslag, Linn; one daughter, Clarabelle Dorweiler, Linn; two brothers, August Stiefermann, Frankenstein and Ernest Stiefermann, Westphalia; nine grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. One son, Bertinus Haslag, preceded her in death.

"Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Help, Frankenstein. The Rev. Peter Walsh will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Gethsemane, Frankenstein.

"Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the Morton Chapel, Linn. A rosary will be at 7:30 p.m."
