RICHARD GOODHEAD, COUNTY PIONEER, DIES FAMILY HOME
Richard Goodhead, 75, died at the family home on East Front street at 11 o'clock last night from liver complications. Deceased had been in failing health for more than a year and had been confined to his home a greater part of the time. His condition had been serious for several weeks past and his death was not unexpected.
Mr. Goodhead was a native of England, where he was born January 23, 1853. He came to Rockvale more than 43 years ago, where for a number of years he was engaged in the livery business. He was widely known thru-out the camps and Fremont county and was prominent in the development of Rockvale.
He closed up his business in Rockvale 18 years ago and the family moved to Florence. Mr. Goodhead built the block on Front street, which bears his name, and includes a garage and store rooms on the first floor, a skating rink and living apartments upstairs.
He was a member of Hercules Lodge No. 21, Knights of Pythias, of Coal Creek, which organization will officiate at the funeral.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Goodhead, two sons, Archie, of Rockvale, and Howard, of Florence, and one daughter, Mrs. Rosebud Dewhurst, of Rockvale. Four children preceded their father by death, Arthur, Elsie, Blanche and Willie.
The funeral will be held from the Easton chapel Sunday, November 11, at 2:30 p. m. and will be in charge of the Knights of Pythias of Coal Creek. Burial will be made in Highland cemetery under the direction of the Easton Funeral Home.
