St. Cloud Daily Times, Sept. 9, 1965, p. 8. John J. Rieder, 91, 616 Ninth avenue south, died Wednesday. He was born Dec. 16, 1873, in St. Joseph MN, and was a resident of St. Cloud for the past 63 years. In 1902 he married Susan Hoffman at St. Joseph. She preceded him in death in February 1965. Mr. Rieder was in the grocery business in St. Cloud from 1902 until his retirement in 1935. He is survived by the following children: Edward, Walter, Mrs. Norbert Rau (Alma), Lawrence, Norbert, Jack and Mrs. Peter Landowski (Kathleen), St. Cloud; Mrs. Joseph Wartman (Margaret) Eden Valley MN; (living); (living); (living) and (living). There are 30 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. one son preceded him in death. Mr. Rieder was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Joseph Society and Catholic Order of Foresters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., from St. Mary's Cathedral with burial in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call at the Williams Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today until time of services. The family prefers memorials to St. Joseph Home.
