U.S. Congressman. He attended St. Mary’s College, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1837 and commenced to practice law in Lebanon, Kentucky. He was a member of the Kentucky State House of Representatives in 1839 and elected as a Whig to the Thirty-third Congress, serving (1853-55). After leaving Congress, he resumed the practice of law until his death.
