OLD RESIDENT OF COUNTY DIES IN CLARENCE
(By Clarence Correspondent)
After months of ill health, and the past several weeks in a serious condition, Mr. J. C. Rodes passed away at his home in Clarence Thursday about noon. He was one of the old residents of the county and was born in Tennessee in 1834, coming to Missouri when a boy. He lived on a farm in Jefferson township until probably about fifteen years ago when he moved to Clarence and had made this his home ever since. He leaves besides a widow, three daughters, all of whom reside in Billings, Montana, Mrs. J. P. Snidow, one daughter, was here at the time of his death. Mr. Rodes was one of our best citizens and had been a member of the M. E. Church, South, for many years, and when he was able to attend Sunday School was the teacher of the Men's Bible Class for years. He leaves many friends who sympathize with the bereaved relatives.
