Susan was a lifelong resident of North Syracuse, growing up on the family farm on Buckley Road. She was a graduate of Liverpool High School and St. Lawrence University, where she recently enjoyed her 50th reunion.

She was a proprietor of the Black Forest Workshop for 40 years, spreading holiday joy through her creative arrangements and custom designed trees for the Everson Museum Festival of Trees.

She also designed and planted flower gardens for dozens of commercial and residential clients throughout central New York and recently finished writing her second book, "When it was Country."

Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088 or the Humane Association of CNY, 4915 1/2 West Taft Road, Liverpool, NY 13088.

She was the most optimistic and upbeat person that anyone could ever choose to know, always looking out for the well-being of others and always offering a kind word of encouragement to all.

To know her was to love her, and she will be sorely missed by all.
