4th Marquess of Worcester
8th Earl of Worcester
10th Baron Herbert
Only son of Charles Somerset, Marquess of Worcester, and Rebecca Child. Paternal grandson of Henry Somerset, 1st Duke of Beaufort, and the Honourable Mary Capell. Maternal grandson of Sir Josiah Child of Wanstead, 1st Baronet, and Mary Atwood.
Henry was born at Monmouth Castle, and inherited the dukedom from his grandfather at the age of 14. And though he only lived 30 short years, he was married three times.
First married to Lady Mary Sackville in 1702, she was the daughter of the 6th Earl of Dorset. Mary died in childbirth in 1705, along with her infant.
Henry then married Lady Rachel Noel in 1706, the daughter of the 2nd Earl of Gainsborough. They were parents to two sons - Henry and Charles - but Rachel died shortly after the birth of Charles in 1709.
Lastly, in 1711, Henry married the Honourable Lady Mary Osborne, daughter of the 2nd Duke of Leeds, but the marriage was childless.
He died suddenly, and was succeeded by his eldest son Henry.
His widow married the 4th Earl of Dundonald in 1715 and died without issue in Scotland in 1722.
