Daughter of Wriothesley Baptist Noel, 2nd Earl of Gainsborough, and the Honourable Catherine Greville. Paternal granddaughter of Edward Noel, 1st Earl of Gainsborough, and Lady Elizabeth Wriothesley. Maternal granddaughter of Fulke Greville, 5th Baron Brooke of Beauchamps Court, and Sarah Dashwood.
She married Henry Somerset in the Chapel Royal at St. James' Palace in 1706.
Both of her sons became dukes of Beaufort, but sadly Rachel died shortly after her second son was born.
